As usual, I agree with your overall assessment, though I share some readers’ concerns with “both-sides-ism.” There is no comparison, for example, between the boorish, corrosive, and hateful antics of the likes of Marjorie Taylor Green, Lauren Bobert, Matt Gaetz, Paul Gosar, and Jim Jordan, on one hand, and the dignified, articulate behavior of AOC. When she calls them “fascists” she is simply stating a fact, since their crude, mean-spirited bullying replicates exactly the behavior of the Nazi party in the German parliament during Hitler’s rise. Like them, these bozos are out to subvert the civility that is essential to democratic governance.
