Very disturbing, and all true. There is, however, a very small, but now global, movement that has been actively exploring and implementing alternative ways of living symbiotically with the Earth. It is called permaculture—and it consists of applied ecology for the design of self-supporting human habitats in every bio region, at all scales. The problem is that it’s a local (practice-based), not global (policy-based) solution to the destructive, greedy practices that have led us to the brink of catastrophic collapse worldwide.
