We’ll be lucky enough to sustain human life here on Earth, once the fossil fuels become more energy expensive to extract than the energy they yield and our global market economy collapses. And after Thwaite’s Glacier (already slipping into the ocean) releases the vast ice fields of West Antarctica back into the ocean, drowning coastal cities throughout the world, while the self-accelerating rise in global temperatures continues to melt permafrost, burn forests and grasslands, and wipe out agricultural productivity worldwide…There won’t be much technological infrastructure left or money to even think about space flight! We’ll be too busy trying to find food and water, stay cool in the torrid heat, and fight off desperate marauders to engage in techno-fantasies like this. UNLESS…what? You tell me how we can reverse our climate juggernaut of mass die-off.
