What would I do? I’ve already started—growing a garden, growing my community, growing awareness among everyone whose brains have not yet been hijacked by right wing lying propaganda. When the crunch comes, the best prepared will be contiguous well-organized, mutually cooperative neighborhoods with garden guilds where people know each other and are used to cooperating and sharing food, skills, and creative ideas for taking care of everyone and abandoning no one. The survivalists who hole up in armed encampments and shoot everyone who comes near will run out of food and ammunition long before we—the Gaian permaculturists—need to fight them off, because we’ll have lots of friends while they have none…
