Your logic is impeccable and it could have made a difference 40 years ago if it had been implemented at a policy level. But the short-term greed of the fossil fuel industry and their political pawns (mostly Republicans) made it sadly inevitable that an incremental transition to solar power would never get a hearing…the idea was nipped in the bud by powerful vested interests. So here we are today, after 40 years of corporate greed, willful ignorance, media-implanted hatred, a culture of denial—all leading to widespread despair, especially in younger generations who know that their future has been hijacked. I wish it were otherwise, and I commend you for continuing to promote your idea of a transition to solar power across all sectors. But for me, the most adaptive thing we all can do is learn and propagate the principles and practices of permaculture: growing gardens, growing community, and growing awareness.
