You're right: Democracy sucks. Do you have any good alternative for large, complex societies?

I don't. Given the choice between "Liberal Democracy" and ANY other form of government, I will choose the former--regardless of its recurrent delusions and pathologies. I don't have any desire to live in a country where I can be jailed for criticizing the leaders or their policies, regardless of whether the trains run on time.
